Sesame Street font

The name of the Sesame Street font that most closely resembles the original logo lettering for this famous kids TV series, is a typeface by the name of Alternate One. It was created by the design team at OPTIFONT.

The Sesame Street logo uses a sans-serif font that is bold, capitalized, and white. This creates a strong contrast with the green background and makes the text easy to read. It uses a green and yellow color scheme that is bright, cheerful, and eye-catching. These colors are used to good effect as that are associated with nature, happiness, and energy, which reflect perfectly the show’s positive and fun atmosphere aimed at children. The shape is a rectangular and oval shape for the signs, which are rounded at the corners. All of these design elements add up to create a casual look and feel, that is perfectly aligned with their young audience demographic.

The following is an image of the character map that I recently created, demonstrating all of the individual characters that are included with this free Sesame Street font:

About the Sesame Street children’s tv show

Created by the production team headed by Lloyd Morrisett and Joan Cooney, Sesame Street holds the record as being the most successful children’s tv show of all time. It boasts some of the most recognisable names and faces such as: Oscar the Grouch, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Bert and Ernie, and our personal favorite Count Von Count. With the very first episode airing on the PBS network back on 10 November 1969 it continues to be a firm favorite with children in America and indeed all over the world.
