The Shopify brand

Shopify is an e-commerce platform that allows anyone to open their own online store and sell goods. Shopify was founded in 2004 by Tobi Lütke, Daniel Weinand, and Scott Lake in a small Canadian town called Ottawa. With the desire to sell snowboards and other equipment, The three friends founded their Snowdevil shop. They decided to make an open-source program, and in two months they launched it. Then, in 2006, they started a service called Shopify. It lets store owners manage their online shops from mobile devices. After that, the business really took off. Today, there are more than 2 million businesses registered on the site.

Shopify logo & font used

Shopify’s logo, designed in 2006, has remained unchanged until today. But today Shopify announced that it has refreshed its logo to better reflect the company’s values and principles. The Shopify logo features an image of a grocery bag on a white background. The logo text is in the form of a single letter, which is the letter S and stands for Shopify. The company chose a sans-serif typeface for its logo. It looks similar to the Helvetica Neue font. The logo’s simplicity belies its rich color scheme: black, white, and two shades of green.
